This is a lot of “me” content but where else can you hear all about what I’m up to without reading my Google calendar?

THINGS I TRIPPED OVER ON THE INTERNET TODAY, JULY 10

Thing #1 - Raleigh Ritchie again

I know Ritchie was in my last Roundup but, gurl, are you hearing this?

Thing #2 - “Husavik - My Home Town” makes me cry

Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams were just in one of the dumbest-sounding movies ever greenlit by Netflix and it happens to be in my top ten shows of the year so far and it's really because of two things; this song about seagulls and whales and Northern Lights that makes me homesick for Canada down to my long toes. And a side story about Icelandic elves - A majority of Icelanders thing there are elves actually living there and they give them tributes and presents.

Anyway. This song is great . PS - It’s really sung by Molly Sanden and she’s Swedish, not Icelandic.

Thing #3 - Netflix gets into soft-core porn with new “Home Game” series

Have you heard of Calcio Storico before? It’s basically a bunch of hot muscled Italian men just beating the crap out of each other in floofy pants in a sandy-bottomed arena for the amusement of the entire city of Florence. It’s MMA meats Soccer, and it’s absolutely medieval. It’s “Spartacus” and it’s real life and I would make breakfast for every single one of these sweaty, beat-up, warrior men.

Learn all about it in this beautifully-filmed softcore porn series by Netflix. So brave.

Thing #4 - Indonesian Mad Max Vespas

Vespa modifications are apparently a thing I need to learn more about because as you can see in this recent video by Great Big Story, they’re amazing.

Thing #5 - Art at the center of the Black Panthers movement

Learn all about Emory Douglas and his role in the Black Panther movement and his artwork from the Civil Rights Movement.

Thing #6 - The mesmerizingly magical aura of Shamir

American singer, songwriter, and unicorn, Shamir Bailey is a strange planet I’m so happy to be in the orbit of. Queer indie rock that’s catchy and chewy and makes me want to shimmy in some cheap pumps while eating Ruffle potato chips.
