This is a lot of “me” content but where else can you hear all about what I’m up to without reading my Google calendar?

THINGS I TRIPPED OVER ON THE INTERNET TODAY, NOV 17

Thing #1 - The Church of Bones

There’s a weird Roman Catholic chapel in Kutna Hora in the Czech Republic that contains the skeletons of 40,000-70,000 people. Those bones aren’t just laying around in rotten boxes though, they’re artistically arranged in elaborate chandeliers, archways, and a million other architectural details that make you question everything about body disposal and life.

Rumor is, there was a mass grave on the site of the chapel following the Black Death in the 14th century and then a war in the 15th which put thousands of bodies in the graveyard. A church was put in that displaced a good portion of the graves while they built the lower part of the structure. The task of exhuming and stacking the bones was given to, allegedly, a half-blind monk. So you can guess how things may have been misplaced; knee bones connected to the chest bone. All that jazz.

So in the 1800s, the chapel hired a local woodworker to put it all right, but he apparently took that as a greenlight to use the bones as an art project when he figured out that it was an impossible task to reconcile the body parts with their correct peoples.

A weird flick was made about it in the seventies. Which you can see below. It’s in Czech, so you may wanna just mute it and put on a Pink Floyd album.

Thing #3 - A dad joke about Brazilians

Someone may find this offensive. But I don’t care.

Thing #4 - Russell Tovey has a podcast about art

British actor Russell George Tovey, the man behind the sexy werewolf George Sands in Being Human, Rudge in The History Boys, a sexy delivery man in Muppets Most Wanted, and sexy entrepreneur/hottie Kevin Mattheson from Looking on HBO, has a podcast about art and I officially could not love him any more.

Tovey cohosts the podcast “talkart” with his buddy Robert Diament, director of Carl Freedman Gallery in Kent.

Give it a listen HERE. The episode with Sir Ian McKellen is a standout.

Thing #5 - This bear knows how to open car doors

Well, that’s it everyone. Bears can open doors and we have no hopes of survival anymore. I’m not even talking about those hairy gays at the bar either, this is a real-ass bear with no fucks to give, Sharon. She just opens the door, and gets in like it’s a flippin’ Uber Black and she’s late for a very important date.

The people who posted the video said it didn’t even hurt the interior. It just kind of got in, sniffed around, and then peaced out before heading to a pic-a-nic.

Thing #6 - Pet blobfish

The folks at Archie McPhee just released a 5-inch long stretchy, sticky blobfish toy that you can keep at home forever and ever.

Blobfish are the ugliest creatures in the ocean and they totally know it, as evidenced by their permanently frowning faces.
